What about using travelers checks in Greece. Is it possible? I am planning a trip to Thessaloniki next March. |

Travelers checks (taxitdiotiki epitayi) offer the best security when traveling, but they are also harder to spend and require careful monitoring of your movements so that you exchange an appropriate amount when you are near an exchange. If you plan on spending much time away from large cities or if you're camping or back packing, it will be easier to have cash with you.
The most commonly accepted brands are Thomas Cook, American Express, and Visa. These brands also have easy replacement policies. When carrying travelers checks be sure to keep a list of the numbers in a separate location form the checks. This way, if the travelers checks are stolen you will have the numbers in a safe location. |
