Subject: Goodwill Tax
Question: Does the buyer who buys a business in Greece without buying the premises (for example, who buys a restaurant -goodwill + equipment- but will rent the premises) have any tax or registration fees to pay, as it is the case in certain country (in France, you have to pay a 14.20% tax when buying the goodwill). I carried out a web search but couldn't find anything on the subject.
Thanks for your reply.
Answer:
I tried very hard to find an answer to your question but I must say it has been difficult. All I can say is that you will have to pay taxes but I cannot say for certain at which percentage.
