What centry did the olympian gods rule and what help did they bring to their people? |

Although the exact period that the Olympian Gods ruled is lost in the fog of time, it seems that from 800 B.C until A.D. 400, the ancient Greeks worshiped them and believed these deities controlled aspects of life and the natural world.
Zeus ruled clouds and rain and decided outcomes of battles. His weapon was a thunderbolt with which he hurled at those who displease him. He was also known to punish those that lie or break oaths
Poseidon was the god of the sea, protector of all waters. He was widely worshiped by seamen.
Hades was the lord of the underworld, ruling over the dead. He was a greedy god who is greatly concerned with increasing his subjects.
Hera was the supreme goddess, goddess of marriage and childbirth and takes special care of married women.
Apollo was the god of healing who taught man medicine and the god of prophecy
Aphrodite was the goddess of love, desire and beauty. She represented sex, affection, and the attraction that binds people together.
Hermes was the god of commerce. He was the guide for the dead to go to the underworld.
Artemis was goddess of chastity, virginity, the hunt, the moon, and the natural environment. She was the lady of the wild things and the protector of the young.
Hephaestus was the patron god of both smiths and weavers.
Athena was fierce and brave in battle but, only wars to defend the state and home from outside enemies. She is the goddess of the city, handicrafts, and agriculture.
